Controller to ensure the following core actions have been completed:

Identify location of the fire and proximity to the railway

Immediately send response MOM and appoint as RIO

Consider infrastructure OLE (Emergency switch off) / OLE staff (Heat damage)

Trapped/stranded trains -Can they be safely moved out of the area/Platformed

Acetylene cylinder on site show no signs of heat damage , no action is required.

Evidence of heat damage/direct flame contact. Designate a hazard zone, initially 200 metres and follow flow chart.

Timescale Summary:

Wetting phase: Spraying of cylinders with water (10 mins)

Monitoring phase: Monitor for 1 hour and apply water every 15 minutes (60 mins)

Cumulative timescale: 130 minutes from when the fire is extinguished
