Controller to ensure the following core actions have been completed:
Exact location (confirm if on NR infrastructure)
Time of Occurrence
Which train was involved?/ Identify any trapped trains
Confirm with the signaller that trains are stopped to protect the site
Are there any injuries to staff or members of public?
Which line(s) are affected including vehicles fouling adjacent lines?
Obtain Unit/Loco and Cab/Car number from TRUST.
Are any dangerous goods involved?
Consider OLE emergency switch off. Record correct limits.
Dispatch LOM/MOM to attend to act as RIO. Inform TOC/FOC
Call the emergency services, including BTP, if required
Advise NR senior managers
Confirm TOC/FOC are sending a TOLO
What is nearest Access Point?
Advise NOC -Request Bruff
Update CCIL and FMS and send Tyrell & Safety text
Ask response staff for photographs to aid preservation of evidence
Request Station CCTV, FFCCTV, Level Crossing CCTV footage available
