Wheel Impact Load Detector (WILD / GOTCHA) Activation
Controller to ensure the following core actions have been completed:
Location: Thurmaston
When a train activates the WILD, an alarm is received on the IC's & RCM's desk and also a printout is automatically generated.
Establish the correct train involved, using CCF
Refer to the WILD response table & flowchart
Advise the controlling signaller of level of activation and restrictions that apply to the train.
Advise TRC of the train headcode, Axle number & side of travel, fault value, vehicle number if known
Confirm who will advise the TOC/FOC of the restriction that now applies to that train
Complete the W.I.L.D Activation Form and fax or email to TOC/FOC involved along with a copy of the W.I.L.D printout.
If the affected train service is conveying dangerous goods, treat as a dangerous goods irregularity including completion of the dangerous goods irregularity form in Rail Notices.
Complete the W.I.L.D Activation Form F3.21C and forward to NOC within 24hrs
