ADD (Automatic Dropping Device) Activation
Controller to ensure the following core actions have been completed:
Identify unit/Headcode and affected line(s)
Ensure train is at a stand and signaller is protecting the affected lines
Establish if there is any damage to the Pantograph or OLE
Is the ADD within a Head span area
All lines to be examined if within Head span area (Bedford South areas)
Examine on affected line only( None headspan areas -North of Bedford) On approach to the point of ADD to position of standing train.
No Damage: All trains be caution at 20 mph on affected line(s) until OLE staff have inspected the area.
Unaffected lines: Normal working if No damage to OLE reported
Confirm with ECR of any section trippings and DTF.
Request Pan cam, forward and rear facing CCTV from TOC
Create FMS and send OLE staff to site( In all cases)
Inform L2 OLE manager( If ADD includes section trip)
Advise NOC
Update CCIL/FMS and send a Tyrell message
If unit fault is not confirmed, all affected line(s) must be inspected by OLE staff
